Felix DeHerrera is Chairman and Majority Owner of Alterra Group LLC, dba Alterra Home Loans. Hispanic Business Magazine named Alterra one of the fastest growing 100% Hispanic-owned mortgage banking companies in 2013 and Mortgage Tech Magazine named Alterra a Top Tech Company in 2012.

DeHerrera who started his real estate and finance career in 1975 has held real estate licenses in five states and also owns Realty Marketing Associates, Inc. (RMA) that he founded in 1998. RMA operates a real estate brokerage in Nevada, whose expertise is in the disposition of distressed properties. RMA was the majority joint venture partner of Southwest Alliance of Asset Managers which was the first Hispanic majority-owned Management and Marketing Contractor for HUD from 2004 to 2011. Southwest Alliance had over 120 employees and sold over 52,000 HUD homes in Texas and New Mexico. RMA was also recognized by Hispanic Business magazine as the one of the fastest growing Hispanic businesses in the U.S. in 2008 and 2009 and Felix was a nominee for Hispanic Business Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009.


Felix is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and has a sixteen-year-old son, Brandon, and a twelve-year-old daughter, Kayla, and lives in Florida.

Professional and Civic

Felix was one of the very first National Association of Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) members and started their very first chapter in 2000 in Las Vegas, NV. He served as national Director from 2000 to 2007 and as national Chairman during 2007-2008. He continues to serve as an ambassador for the Association promoting membership and one of just a handful who has attended and or participated at every national conference. He also attends many state and local chapter events.

Felix is a steadfast advocate for Building Wealth through Homeownership and his primary goal is to assist others in their endeavor(s) to create wealth for themselves and their families.
